Practice and Personal Background

Jen focuses her practice on health care regulatory compliance and complex health care litigation. She also leads her Firm’s health care privacy and cybersecurity practice and initiatives. Jen’s practice involves handling litigation in federal and state courts, with an emphasis on representing health care providers and other corporate clients in complex litigation matters. Jen has significant experience in False Claims Act defense, ERISA and other benefits, coverage and business practices and fiduciary litigation. She also has class action expertise and mass tort litigation experience. Drawing upon her health care compliance and litigation background, Jen also has an active investigations practice. She conducts health care compliance audits and investigations for clients nationwide and represents them when they are under investigation by federal and state authorities for health care fraud and abuse, HIPAA breaches, and other regulatory non-compliance. Within the constantly evolving health care legal landscape, Jen also provides health care regulatory and compliance guidance to her clients, including guidance as to how to structure their organizations in the ever-changing health care arena, to comply with PPACA, the HIPAA regulations, Federal and state anti-kickback laws, Stark law, Sunshine Act/Open Payments law, Medicare/Medicaid rules and regulations, MMSEA/MSP requirements, FDA and ADA regulations, and other laws, rules and regulations impacting her health care clients’ business. In her cybersecurity practice, she works with clients in all industries to minimize the risk of privacy and data security breaches and assists with all aspects of privacy and security compliance, governance, audits/investigations, enforcement actions, breach analyses, training and strategic planning. She has a thorough understanding of federal and state privacy and data security laws, has served as a health care privacy expert witness, and is a frequent presenter on cybersecurity and privacy topics.
