Practice and Personal Background

Adam has been representing clients in Kansas courtrooms since 2008, when he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law. His experience spans the range of trial practice. He has tried many jury cases to verdict and has argued numerous times before the Kansas Court of Appeals and the Kansas Supreme Court. He has also defended arbitrations, and appeared before governmental commissions, administrative tribunals and in municipal courts. Adam’s early experience as an attorney focused on criminal and domestic law, and taught him how to efficiently and effectively litigate. As his courtroom skills were recognized by the judiciary, Adam was called on to represent clients accused of very serious offenses like murder, rape, robbery, and kidnapping. Adam’s willingness to champion unpopular clients with unpopular causes demonstrates his commitment to the principle of “justice for all.” Seven years ago Adam joined ADTA member Todd Thompson's firm and began working on defense matters involving wrongful death, bad faith, premises liability, real estate broker/agent malpractice, land use and zoning, commercial disputes, casualty losses, bodily injuries, intellectual property disputes, and a variety of insurance coverage issues. As a civil attorney, Adam places a premium on the value of critical thinking and careful case evaluations when helping to manage uncertain outcomes for his clients. Armed with the technical know-how to maneuver through complex procedures, Adam works hard to develop, explain, and execute successful litigation strategies for his clients. Adam is a member of the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel, the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Kansas Bar Association, and the Douglas County Bar Association. He has presented numerous continuing legal education programs, has authored legislation and testified in favor of needed legal reforms, and for the past three years has co-authored the insurance law update for the Kansas Bar Association. Adam and his wife (also an attorney) are the proud parents of twin boys.
