Practice and Personal Background

Robert W. Shively is the founding member of Shively Law Group, PC,LLO, in Lincoln, Nebraska. His trial practice focuses on the defense of personal injury and wrongful death cases, including motor vehicle, premises liability, and product liability matters. Mr. Shively also has an active mediation practice, and is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. Mr. Shively has served in the leadership of national and state defense organizations for many years. In addition to membership in ADTA, Mr. Shively is a member of DRI, and was a long time member of FDCC, and IADC. He served on the Board of Directors for DRI from 2010-2013, and as a State Representative from 1999-2003. He received the Fred Sievert Award signifying recognition as the nation's outstanding defense bar leader in 2007. Mr. Shively served as President of the Nebraska Defense Counsel Association from 2006-2008, and served on its Board of Trustees from 1996-2009. Mr. Shively is also active in the leadership of the National Foundation For Judicial Excellence. He has served on its Board of Directors sin e 2014, was Development Chair from 2014-2016, and is currently President. Mr. Shively is a Past President of the Lincoln Bar Association, Past Chair of the Disciplinary Review Board of the Nebraska State Bar Association, and was a member of the Civil Practice and Procedure Committee of the NSBA from 1999-2010. He is Past Vice Chair of the Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Commission. Mr. Shively has been recognized as an AV Preeminent attorney by Martindale Hubbell since 1992, and has been recognized as a Great Plains Super Lawyer since 2007.
